World Travels Continue

It was January 2006 when I last left New Zealand and I only went as far as Australia. My feet have been itching since then and finally in June I will be jet setting once again. Towards the end of the month I will be heading to Fiji for 3 weeks with the World of Life Youth Reachout 2008 Team. I am priviledged to have been asked to go as a leader on the team. While away we will travel around schools and churches sharing the Gospel of Jesus with them through different means. I'm really looking forward to the challenges the trip will bring. It will be an amazing experience sharing with the people there but also sharing with the other on the team. I'm definately looking forward to it.

Fiji - the stereotype

Then at the end of December I will be getting on an even bigger plane at taking off to the Philippines! A team of young people from my home church, Lincoln Road Bible Chapel will spend 3 weeks in and around Manila. We will work for some of the time with Gawad Kalinga an organisation that works in poor areas building houses and helping the people to become self-sufficiant. We'll also spend some time in an orphanage, playing with, reading and teaching English to and loving the kids there.

While both trip are Missions oriented they will be quite different. Not only because of the differences in the countries but also the overall purposes of the teams I am going with.
Obviously, the main point is to share the love of Jesus with people through word and deed. One trip will have more of the word and the other deed. We are going to give and to be a blessing, but as I have been told many times already, we will ourselves learn and grow so much through the experiences we will have.
